Botox on the stomach is an endoscopic procedure, and it is a procedure that takes about 15 minutes, with mild sedation, that is, slight drowsiness, but not as deep as narcosis, that is  that is, the patient is neither asleep nor awake, on intravenous medication.  In gastric botox, as in other botox procedures, the smooth muscles are relaxed by injection, in fact a situation of temporary paralysis is created.  This effect begins in about a week and lasts for about 4 to 6 months.  It has no known significant side effects.  With the relaxation of the smooth muscles of the stomach, the time for emptying food from the stomach is prolonged, that is, a long satiety is created.  In addition, in order to reduce ghrelin, which is the hunger hormone released from the upper part of the stomach, an injection is made in this area, that is, an injection is given to this area.  decreased appetite is assured.

Both of these effects contribute to the patient's weight loss.  So to speak, when the patient takes one step, it is as if he has taken two steps.

 Botox can be repeated as many times as desired, but if the patient has lost weight and continues to lose weight, it should be repeated.

 Otherwise, gastric botox should not be recommended repeatedly to a person who has not lost enough weight.

 Very good results can be obtained with the support of a dietitian and appropriate patient selection.

 Another aspect of success is the right dose, the stomach is a large organ and low doses lead to failure The correct dose and experience are very important for this.
