Buttock aesthetics has become one of the popular surgeries both in our country and around the world in recent years. Of course, social media has an important role in this, as well as the change in body beauty perception. Now, the full and rounded butt shape is more appreciated. There are various surgical procedures applied to achieve this.
The basic element of accepting the female body as attractive and beautiful is its curves. What creates these folds is the harmonious succession of the recessed and protruding regions.
The two protruding areas on the female body are the breasts and buttocks. With this feature, the butt both contributes to the aesthetic perception and affects the posture. In the past, plastic surgery focused on the breast area and the butt was ignored. However, especially in the last 10 years, butt aesthetic applications have increased rapidly.
Many women are uncomfortable with their butt shape. While it is a problem for some that the butt area is weak, low or small, others complain about the size, width or weight gain from the butt area. Women now want to have a more upright, lively, plump, round, cellulite-free and younger looking butt.
Who wants to have butt aesthetics?
- Women with flat (not upturned) buttocks.
- People who have flattening, ejaculation or falling on their buttocks after excessive weight gain and loss (obesity surgery).

Women who are uncomfortable with this situation can also achieve a more prominent appearance, also called Brazilian butt, with butt aesthetics.

What methods are used to achieve a fuller butt?
Liposuction (fat removal method) and fat injection method are frequently used methods to obtain a full and rounded buttock. With this process, you will both get rid of your regional excess fat and get a fuller appearance by injecting the fat obtained into your butt area. Apart from this, butt prosthesis is another process we use to provide volume. If the person has insufficient butt volume, permanent fullness is provided with the prosthesis. In some cases, the two processes are also combined.
How is Brazilian butt lift (BBL) applied?
Brazilian butt lift is a procedure performed under general anesthesia and in the operating room. First of all, in order to highlight the butt area, excess fat is removed by liposuction, especially in the hip, waist and abdomen areas. The resulting fat tissue is prepared for injection. Then, by applying serial injections, the butt gets the desired appearance.
How long does the surgery take?
It takes 2-3 hours on average, depending on the procedure to be performed.
What is the post-operative process like?
You will need to use a special corset that will be given to you for about 6 weeks after the surgery. Especially in the first 2 months, we do not want you to sit on the pole and lie on your back to protect the butt area. If necessary, we recommend that you use special donut-shaped pillows or put a pillow under your legs and sit in a way that does not expose the butt area to pressure. While light activities such as walking can be started after the second week, we recommend starting heavier activities after 6-8 weeks.
Is the surgery permanent?
It is expected that 30-40% of the fat injected into the butt area will melt on average. The fate of the remaining, surviving adipose tissues is the same as the existing adipose tissues in the body. In other words, when you lose weight, they shrink, and when you gain weight, these adipose tissues grow. The better you maintain your post-operative form and the healthier you eat, the longer the permanence of your surgery will be.
Variants of buttock aesthetics
It is possible to use different techniques and methods according to the discomfort in butt aesthetics. In general, we can examine buttock aesthetics under three main headings according to the desired result:
- Buttock Augmentation
- Butt Lift
- Butt Reduction
While butt reduction is basically performed with liposuction, methods such as fat injection, prosthesis augmentation, composite augmentation with prosthesis + fat injection, and autoprosthesis augmentation with flaps can be used for butt enlargement. For butt lift, methods such as liposuction, fat injection and skin removal are used individually or in combination.
Buttock augmentation with silicone prosthesis
Just like in breast augmentation operations, the butt is made fuller and raised by placing a silicone prosthesis (implant). The silicone prostheses we use in butt augmentation have a denser and special design.
These prostheses placed under the muscle cannot be felt while sitting or lying down. It is usually a 1.5 hour operation. It is done under general anaesthesia. It is possible to be discharged on the same day and to return to work life 3 to 4 days after the operation. In this operation, the surgical scar is hidden in the butt fold.
Buttock aesthetics with fat injection
It is the removal of excess fat from the abdomen, waist and hips by the liposuction method, intensifying them through special processes and placing them back on the upper part of the buttocks. With this method, the butt is filled and a more upright appearance is obtained.
This method can be applied if you have a lower or moderate augmentation demand compared to the silicone prosthesis. Of course, skin quality and cellulite structure also affect the preference of this method. Some of the fat injected into the butt with fat injection will melt, but 60% of the fat remains in the butt in a one-year period.
It is possible to intervene in every part of the buttock in butt enlargement with fat injection. At the same time, since liposuction is performed, it also allows shaping the waist area. Fat injection can also be used as a supportive procedure for better results in people who have had butt augmentation with silicone prosthesis.
Since it is an operation performed with very small millimetric incisions, there will be no visible scars after the operation.
Buttock aesthetics with fat injection is an operation that usually takes 1.5 hours under local or general anesthesia.
You can be discharged on the same day after the operation and return to your work life between 4 and 5 days. A recovery corset should be worn for the first two weeks after the procedure.
Butt shaping after obesity
People who lose weight after obesity surgery (gastric bypass, tube stomach, etc.) or diet and sports have serious sagging in the butt area. The approach to our patients in this group is different and specific.
In people who apply with this complaint, it is mostly possible to stretch the abdomen and buttocks in a single session. During this procedure, the tissue that needs to be removed from the buttock area can be evaluated. It is possible to obtain a permanent prosthesis appearance obtained from the person's own tissue by filling this tissue into the buttock, which is shaped and erected just like a prosthesis. Thus, our patients in the post-obesity group can have a steeper and fuller butt.
Can men also have butt aesthetics?
Yes, nowadays men are also interested in butt aesthetics. In fact, in many studies, the butt is one of the places that women find attractive in the male body. Women say that they find it attractive that men's butt looks erect and tight. Many men may also be uncomfortable with their appearance due to their low and voluminous butts.
Should I choose oil transfer or silicone?
Your body structure will affect this decision. If you are very thin, a silicone prosthesis solution must be preferred, since it will not be possible to take enough fat to shape your butt.
If you have enough fat, shaping with fat transfer is also a good solution, but it should be known that some of the fat will melt.
The two methods can be combined in people with the appropriate body structure.
Is the butt created by fat injection permanent?
Some of the fat given after fat injection will melt. It can be combined with prp or stem cells to increase permanence, but these procedures will increase the cost. Injecting more than necessary at the beginning is also a solution, as we know that some of the fat will melt away. Apart from this, it is possible to freeze the excess fat taken and to re-inject it under local anesthesia in the future.
