Child Health and Hematology

The most common blood disease of childhood is Iron Deficiency Anemia, malignant disease, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. In the pediatric blood diseases service; Diagnosis and treatment of many blood diseases such as Nutritional Anemias (Iron Deficiency Anemia, Vitamin B12 Deficiency Anemia), Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Aplastic Anemia, Thalassemia (Mediterranean Anemia), Hemophilia are successfully performed.

After the patients are examined in two separate “Pediatric Blood Diseases” outpatient clinics, their treatments are arranged. In the daily chemotherapy room, daily chemotherapy infusions and blood transfusions are performed for necessary patients. Chemotherapies are prepared under sterile conditions in "Chemotherapy Preparation Cabin" with HEPA filter by experienced chemotherapy nurses.

The unit has been arranged according to the needs of the children and has been created to increase the quality of life during their time in the hospital. In the 6-bed Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit with a fully HEPA filter, "Child-Specifically Planned" preparation protocols are given, taking into account the diseases of the patients, the prevalence of their diseases and the children's previous chemotherapy experiences.

Our center is accredited to the European Bone Marrow Transplantation Group (The European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation - EBMT). Relative fully compatible, Relative HLA incompatible, Haploidentic and Cord blood transplants are performed with great care.

Radiation Oncology, Pediatric Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology Specialists, in addition to Pediatric Hematology Oncology specialists, are evaluated together and the most appropriate treatment protocol is developed in the "Tumor Council", which regularly meets with the patients.

All physician services in the department are provided by experienced academic experts.
